The presidential candidate of the Labour Party (LP), Peter Obi has advised his supporters to remain calm while they await the announcement of the results of the Presidential and National Assembly elections.

Confiance News gathered from a video on Twitter where Obi told a supporter who requested his opinion about the results being released.

“We will remain calm. We will remain persistent and consistent,” he said.

Corroborating, popular human rights activist, Aisha Yesufu, advised LP supporters not to fret, nor be depressed.

She enjoined them not to be violent but to gather all available evidence that would enable LP seek redress legally.

“You have no business being depressed. You have no business being disappointed. You have no business saying ‘I am weak’.

“We’re going to do this thing and fight and get our mandate back by using that legitimate means possible all around.”

Confiance News recalls that protests broke out in some parts of the country, as Nigerian called on INEC to revert to the results as were recorded at the Polling Units (PUs) during the elections that took place on the 25th of February, 2023.
