Fire of God as source of help

When the fire of God comes, it comes not to destroy the child of God but to help him in trouble.

Confiance News gathered from the Regional Evangelist of Province 19 of the Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG), Evangelist Ayoola Adeyanju.

Taking his text from the book of Judges 15:11-17, he described how the fire of God was a source of help to Samson in the midst of his enemies.

He said: “The story we have read is about how a man like you and I overcame the challenges of life through the instrumentality of the fire of God.

“The bible says 3000 men of Judah: people from his father’s house, people from his mother’s house— his own people— they came together to come and bind just one man.”

The clergyman noted that man needs the fire God to live a triumphant life because the life of man is full of troubles.

“The bible recorded that as soon as they shouted, the Holy Ghost came mightily upon him and the new chords they used to bind him, they became as flax and were burnt with fire.

“Now the bible talked about fire. Where did the fire come from? The fire came when the Holy Spirit came. Wherever God is, fire is there,” Evangelist Adeyanju continued.

Expatiating, he cited Psalm 46:1 which highlights God’s ever present help in trouble.

The Evangelist said, “Do you know that someone may have ability to help you and not be present.

“People who are present may not have the ability to help you but as far as our God is concerned, He’s always present and has the ability to help.”

He pointed that one of the ways by which our God helps is to send down fire.

“Whether the fire comes to help or destroy, it depends on the side you are,” he disclosed.
