Lawyer and human rights activist, Inibehe Effiong, has said the crowd funding initiated to raise money for Quadri Yusuf’s welfare would hit N10M million by the end of Friday.

Confiance News gathered from a comment he made in reactions to a statement made by the Interim Director of Mobilization for the Obidient Movement, Morris Monye, regarding Quadri Yusuf on Friday.

He said: “We should hit N10m before the end of the day,” Inibehe reacts to Quadri Yusuf’s fundraising.”

Quadri Yusuf is a 17-year-old Nigerian who gained national attention during the 2023 presidential election in Nigeria for standing in front of the campaign convoy of Peter Obi, the Labour Party presidential candidate, in Lagos.

However, in January 2025, Quadri was arrested and detained at the Kirikiri Medium Security Custodial Centre in Lagos on what his legal team described as a fabricated armed robbery charge.

On April 17, 2025, a Magistrate Court in Apapa, Lagos, discharged him after the Lagos State Director of Public Prosecutions found no evidence to support the charges.

Quadri’s lawyer, Inibehe, also took to his official X handle to appeal for financial support to help with his education and provisions for his family.

He said: “Following my discussion with the family of Quadri Alabi and at their request, I hereby appeal to all conscientious organizations, individuals, and corporate entities to offer immediate financial assistance to Quadri to enable him and his family relocate from their present community and home.”
