The atmosphere at The Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG) Solidrock Parish was charged with spiritual fervor during the Power Service on Sunday, as Pastor Bayo Samagbeyi delivered a fiery sermon titled “Let the Fire Fall.”

Drawing from 1 Kings 18:22-24, 38 and Acts 2:1-4, the minister declared that the fire of God—a transformative, purifying, and judgmental force—would descend upon the congregation.
Pastor Samagbeyi emphasized that the “fire” referenced is not ordinary but the “Consuming Fire” of God’s presence. “When we say let the fire fall, we mean let God come down,” he proclaimed, assuring the congregation that God’s power would rest upon them that afternoon. He described the fire as a purifier capable of fixing inadequacies in one’s life and as a judgment against enemies, referencing biblical accounts such as Elijah’s confrontation with the soldiers in 1 Kings 1:10-14, where fire consumed those who opposed God’s prophet.
The minister recounted the story of Elijah, whom he called his “best friend” for his “ministry of fire.” He narrated how Elijah called down fire to consume 51 soldiers sent to arrest him, and how subsequent groups met the same fate until a wiser leader pleaded for mercy. Pastor Samagbeyi declared, “This very afternoon, that fire will fall. Who is he that is burning strange fire on their altar against your life or your children? I declare the fire of God will scatter them.” He cited examples like Nadab and Abihu, who offered strange fire and faced divine judgment, and Sodom and Gomorrah, consumed by fire and brimstone, praying that God’s judgment would fall on the enemies of 14 congregants who affirmed with “amen.”
To experience the fire of God, Pastor Samagbeyi outlined four key steps. First, believers must align with God and avoid living in sin. “You can’t be in and out of sin and say, ‘Let the fire fall,’” he warned. Second, they must repair their spiritual altars, which may have been neglected or defiled. He shared the story of an evangelist who stopped preaching due to personal struggles after a divorce, urging believers to restore their spiritual foundation, as seen in 1 Kings 18:30.
Third, there must be a sacrifice on the altar. Pastor Samagbeyi recounted his own experience of intense prayer and fasting in Ijebu-ero, where he and others spent days in the bush seeking God’s power. “I said to God, ‘Don’t make me an ordinary pastor,’” he shared, attributing the “great and mighty things” in his ministry to his covenant with God. Finally, he stressed the importance of fervent prayer, sharing a testimony of a woman who, through fasting and prayer, reclaimed her three children from her late husband’s family. “Anyone who has taken what belongs to you, by fire by force they will return them to you,” he declared, prompting fervent “amens” from the congregation.
The sermon concluded with a call to salvation, as Pastor Samagbeyi emphasized that nothing would happen without a personal relationship with Jesus. “You must know the way. You must give your life to Jesus,” he urged.
The service left attendees visibly moved, with many responding to the altar call and prayers for divine intervention. RCCG Solidrock Parish continues to be a beacon of spiritual revival, drawing worshippers seeking the transformative power of God’s fire.
