Barely 48 hours to the resumption of International flights, the Nigerian Government announced that it has postponed the resumption of flights earlier scheduled to commence August 29th to September 5th.

Confiance News gathered from the official Twitter handle of the Nigeria’s Federal Ministry of Aviation on Thursday.

“Regret to announce that the international flight resumption earlier scheduled to resume on 29th August has been shifted to 5th September 2020,” it disclosed.

Buttressing, Nigerian Civil Aviation Authority (NCAA) noted that non-logistics activities was responsible for the postponement.

“The Federal Government has shifted the resumption of international flights in Nigeria to September 5.

“The Nigerian Civil Aviation Authority (NCAA) announced this today, saying while airlines and airports were ready, other non-aviation logistics required the one-week extension,” the Ministry disclosed on Twitter.

Confiance News recalls that Nigeria started to restrict international flights in March as part of efforts to restrict the spread of the COVID-19 virus. The country eventually went into a lockdown.

However, in July, the country resumed domestic flight operations with international flights scheduled to follow.
