Finally the long awaited day arrives, the day Nigerian born Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala assumes duties as the first female Director General (DG) of the World Trade Organisation (WTO).
According to data mined from the WTO website, Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala is the seventh DG of the WTO. She took office on March 1, 2021, becoming the first woman and the first African to serve as Director-General. Her term of office will expire on 31 August 2025.
Confiance News, however, did not hesitate in compiling the photos of her first day at work in WTO, Geneva, Switzerland.
