A little boy (names witheld) has been awarded scholarship by the Group Chief Executive of First City Monument Bank (FCMB), Ladi Balogun for exhibiting uprightness and integrity.

Confiance News gathered from a post made by a LinkedIn user, Nurudeen Adeyemi, on Saturday.

According to Adeyemi, the boy was hawking groundnuts at the time when FCMB was about to play its novelty match.

Luck shone on him when he was asked to sell all the groundnuts to the footballers and all in attendance, including Mr. Balogun.

Adeyemi stated that the boy indicated that the price for all the groundnuts was N2100. Although the Group Chief Executive of the bank offered him N10,000, he refused to accept it because he did not want to have problems with his mother who would demand an explanation for the surplus money.

“Ladi was touched, he collected the money back from him and asked him to go and bring his mother,” Adeyemi narrated.

The mother of the boy was afraid and in tears but Mr. Balogun allayed her fears after explaining to her how impressed he was for the boy’s show of uprightness and integrity.

The boy whose father was late eventually got a scholarship for his show of impressive character.
