Airforce chief urges military retirees to explore skills, experience as they retreat to civil life

The Chief of Air Staff, Air Marshal, Isiaka Amao has urged military retirees to leverage on all the knowledge, skills and expertise acquired during years of service to the nation as they join civil life.

The Airforce Chief spoke at the weekend during the passing out ceremony of course 02/2021 held at the Nigerian Armed Forces Resettlement Centre, Oshodi, Lagos State.

He told the military personnel that the contemporary global economic and national security climate is dynamic and is ripe for post -service life.

According to him, “Presently the country is being confronted with multifaceted threats, the sustenance of quality training for retiring personnel in vocational, entrepreneurship and managerial skills remain a viable tool for a productive post -life.”

On his part the Commandant urged the retirees to carry on with the same spirit of the skill they acquired during training as they transit to civil life.

He noted that the course they have just completed will equip them to cope with the complexities of civil society. He further adviced them to use the skills acquired to support the civil populace .

The Commandant of the centre, Air vice Marshal Mohammed Idris and other senior Officers were present at ceremony confirmed that over 50,000 Military retirees have been trained in the centre.
