The National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Professor Nentawe Goshwe Yilwatda, visited victims of the Angwan Rukuba attack on Saturday at the Jos University Teaching Hospital (JUTH). Accompanied by his wife, Dr. Martina Yilwatda, to demonstrate a firm commitment to the victims and their families during this period of national mourning.
Confiance News gathered from a statement by the Special Adviser to the National Chairman of APC on Media and Communications Strategy, Abimbola Tooki, that as a practical expression of empathy, Professor Yilwatda announced a donation of ₦15,000,000 to assist those injured in the Angwan Rukuba attack and other vulnerable patients at JUTH.
This contribution, the statement revealed, aims to alleviate the immediate financial burden of medical care and provide relief to those suffering from physical and emotional trauma.
The Chairman described the attack as a direct assault on our common humanity. He emphasized that the administration of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu is working tirelessly to ensure that the shedding of innocent blood in Plateau State comes to a permanent end.
”The tragedy in Angwan Rukuba must serve as a wake-up call. We must rise above division and work in unity to confront the forces of violence threatening our peace.”
He highlighted key priorities for restoration to include:
Security Architecture: Strengthening intelligence gathering and security operations to move beyond “routine condemnation.”
Community Engagement: Deepening the relationship between leaders and local stakeholders to identify threats early.
Medical Excellence: Professor Yilwatda specifically lauded the management and staff of JUTH for their professionalism in saving lives under pressure.
Condolence Visit to Ujah Anaguta
Continuing his engagement, the National Chairman paid a condolence visit to the Paramount Ruler of Jos North, the Ujah Anaguta.
During this meeting, he reiterated that these tragedies must not be normalized or politicized. He called on religious, traditional, and political leaders to close ranks and reject the hatred that fuels instability.
Professor Yilwatda concluded by affirming that the APC and the Federal Government are united in their resolve. He insisted that leadership must show up in moments of pain, stating clearly that the killing of innocent citizens must stop and peace must return permanently to Plateau State.
