As part of efforts to foster development in the healthcare sector, Nigeria’s apex bank, the CBN, has given grants worth N253.54 million to five researchers.
Confiance News gathered from the official Twitter handle of the CBN on Wednesday.
“#CBN awards N253.54 million grants to 5 Researchers under its Healthcare Sector Research and Development Intervention Scheme (HSRDIS),” the apex bank tweeted.
It further disclosed that HSRDIS Body of Experts (BoE) evaluated 68 proposals out of 286 submissions made by the researchers.
The CBN governor, Godwin Emefiele, reiterated the bank’s commitment to support the growth of Nigeria’s health sector.
He also noted that more grants will be awarded based on the recommendation of HSRDIS Body of Experts (BoE).
Emefiele, however, urged corporate institutions to support research and development for the overall good of Nigeria.
