On April 11, 2015, the Amazu family from Otolo Nnewi (Igbo descent), south eastern, Nigeria, made history by becoming the first black family to reach the Geographic North Pole.

Confiance News gathered that the North Pole is mostly inaccessible for most part of the year as a result of imposing icebergs and can only be reached by expeditions specifically mounted for the purpose.

They were recognized and awarded by the Russian Geographical Society Expeditionary Center for such a great feat.

“Igbo man is everywhere all over the world,” Igbo History and Facts reacted.
