The Holy spirit came as a comforter. The day he came, power changed hands. As long as you have the Holy Ghost is resident in you, you have power.

That was the submission of a minister of the Solidrock parish of the Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG), Bunmi Akinola on Sunday.

Citing the book of 16:7, He said that Jesus Christ knew the need and importance of the Holy Spirit in the life of christians that was why he had to leave for the comforter to come.

Confiance News gathered that there are two scenarios in the scriptures that explain the effects of the Holy Spirit in the life of a christian.

According to the minister, the book of Job 14:1 stated that, “Man born of a woman is full of troubles. That was the state of man before the advent of the Holy Spirit.”

In comparison, he said that the book of 1John. 5:4 stated that whatever is born of God overcomes the world.

He said, “You are no longer ordinary because you’re born of God. In your place of prayer you are not ordinary. You have overcome the world. The comforter came, you are an overcomer.”

“The economy may be tough but heaven is not stranded as to your case.

God will never be confused as to what to do about your life. It is not a prayer point. Because God already knows the end from the beginning,” he said.

Akinola added that the capacity of the Holy spirit has made you to overcome on account of redemption.

He noted that enforcement of a judgement is a critical phenomenon.

“It is one thing for judgement to be given, it is another thing for the judgement to be enforced.

Jesus is not going to die a second time. The one that He died is enough,” he pointed.

Citing the book of Colossians 2:13-14, He noted, “The word of God is the basis for our enforcement. Don’t underplay the tenses which the scriptures was written. The ‘blotting’ in verse 14 of Colossians chapter (Col. 2:14) is in present continuous tense.”
