…as Owotuga foundation awards scholarship to winner

The Integrity Organisation has presented cash prizes to winners of its inaugural essay competition.
Confiance News gathered from the organisation on Thursday.
The essay competition which was organised to mark the 25th anniversary of Convention on Business Integrity (CBI), a subset of the Integrity Organisation, saw six winners emerging from both the secondary and university schools categories.
According to CBI’s parent organisation, Integrity Organisation, the aim of the essay competition was to guage the perspectives of youths on corruption through written works.
Confiance News reports that the essay topic for the secondary school, titled, “Corruption is outdated: A picture of Nigeria in the future”, saw Binta Daramola, aged 15 residenced in Lagos State, emerging winner in the Secondary category and was rewarded with N400,000.
George Onyenakenya, aged 15 also located in Lagos was second place winner and was presented with N250,000.

The third position in the secondary category was 10 years old Sonia Obiezua who lives in Lagos State as well and went home with N150,000 cash prize.
In the University category, Mr. Desmond Nwaumere, aged 25 and situated in Anambra State, clinched the first position and won N600,000.
More so, Mr. Victor Nwankwo, resident in Rivers State won N300,000 for coming second in the competition, whereas Ms. Chidera Anochirionye who lives in Lagos got N250,000 for being the third position.
Reacting, the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of the Integrity Organisation, Soji Apampa commended the winners for their success and admonished them to strive for significance in the society.
“You don’t want to only be successful; you want your success to make a difference,” he advised.
On his part, Felix Omodayo-Owotuga, the son of the founder of the Owotuga Foundation announced the award of scholarship by the foundation for the university education of Ms. Daramola, who lost her father the previous year.
Confiance News gathered that the Owotuga Foundation, which is one of the sponsors of the Integrity Organisation, is an organisation committed towards promoting access to quality education and poverty alleviation for the benefit of vulnerable groups.
Other sponsors of the event, were the Integrity Founders’ Fund (IFF) and the Geregu Power Plc.
