Reactions by tweeps to a video of an argument that ensued between a couple where the husband accused the wife of infidelity, after getting pregnant despite the husband’s claims of having a vasectomy has questioned the efficacy of vasectomy as a reliable birth control method.
Following the video posted on July 27, 2023 by Addex, Confiance News gathered that some tweeps argued that vasectomy is not a 100% effective birth control method because it fails sometimes.

Vasectomy is a form of male sterilization that cuts the supply of sperm to your semen. It’s done by cutting and sealing the tubes that carry sperm. Vasectomy is a safe and effective birth control choice for men who are certain they don’t want to father a child in the future.
Vasectomy is more than 99 percent effective at preventing pregnancy. It’s considered permanent, so once it’s done you don’t have to think about contraception again. However, vasectomy is not effective right away. It takes at least 2 months for your semen to become sperm-free. You need to have a simple test called a semen analysis to check for sperm in your semen before you can rely on vasectomy as birth control. Don’t have unprotected sex until your doctor says it’s safe.
In very rare cases, the tubes can rejoin after a vasectomy, which means you could cause a pregnancy. But this is super rare. Only 1-2 women out of every 1,000 end up pregnant within a year of their partner receiving a vasectomy.
Vasectomy does not protect you or your partners from sexually transmitted infections (STIs). You still need to use condoms to lower your chances of getting or spreading STIs.
