The Executive Vice Chairman and Chief Executive Officer (EVC/CEO) of the Nigerian Communications Commission (NCC), Dr. Aminu Maida has reaffirmed it’s resolve towards ensuring that women are empowered and included in the telecommunications industry in a way that their contributions translates to positive growth.
Confiance News learnt from a post made by Commission on its official X handle commemorating this year’s International Women’s Day (IWD) at the NCC Headquarters, Abuja.
Maida said: “On this International Women’s Day 2024, let us commit to breaking down barriers and making a tangible difference by inspiring and empowering women to be part of our industry in a way that their contributions to growth and sustainable development of our nation, will become even more remarkable.
“At NCC, we recognize the immense value that diversity brings to our workplace, and we are committed to fostering an environment where women are empowered and included… .
As we celebrate women today, we invite the government, corporate Nigeria, the telecom and ICT industry, to join us in building and nurturing an ecosystem that promotes talent and skills for our female gender, while promoting equal opportunities for their growth and advancement.”
