In a bid to deepen the awareness of Domain Name System Security Extensions (DNSSEC) in Nigeria, the Nigerian Communications Commission (NCC) has announced that it will hold a webinar on the subject on Thursday.
Confiance News gathered from a post it made on its official X handle on Tuesday.
“The Nigerian Communications Commission (NCC) hereby invites you to register for a Domain Name System Security Extensions (DNSSEC) awareness webinar in collaboration with Internet Corporation for Assigned Names and Numbers (ICANN). The objective of the webinar is to promote DNSSEC validation and ensure Nigeria achieves increased awareness by the end of the year and at least 50% DNSSEC validation rate by the first quarter of 2025,” NCC said.
According to ICANN, DNSSEC is a suite of specifications designed to add security to the Domain Name System (DNS). The DNS is like the internet’s phonebook, translating human-friendly domain names (like www.example.com) into IP addresses that computers use to locate each other on the network.
Confiance News also gathered that implementing DNSSEC can significantly enhance the security of your website and protect your users from potential threats.
