Nigeria Legion Lagos command empowers widows of fallen heroes

The Lagos state command of the Nigerian Legion have put smile on the faces of wives and children of late members of the Armed forces as they received empowerment of various form at the weekend in Lagos.

The Command told Confiance News in a statement.

The event which took place at the Legion office hall, Arena, Bolade, Oshodi, Lagos State, was attended by the Commissioner of home affairs Lagos State, Prince Nofiu Elegushi and other top officials of the ministry.

The Chairman Nigerian Legion Lagos State Command Colonel Samuel Akande (rtd) thanked the Governor of Lagos State his Excellency Babajide Sanwo -Olu for approving the fund used in empowering the widows and family members of late military personnel who lost their lives while protecting the nation.

While delivering good will messages from the Governor, Elegushi appreciated the Armed Forces and other Security agencies for ensuring adequate security across the country.

He advised the beneficiaries of the empowerment to utilize all the equipment given to them and promised that the State government will continue to support families of late Military heroes. Majority of the beneficiaries who spoke to our Correspondent thanked the Governor for the gesture and urged him to sustain the yearly event.
