Healthcare innovators suming upto 100 have submitted entries for the Nigerian Liquefied Natural Gas (NLNG) Prize for Science.

Confiance News gathered from a report by Punch.

The innovators will be competing for the best “Innovation for Enhancement of Healthcare Therapy,” a theme adopted by the advisory board of the prize for this year’s competition.

At a recent press conference held in Lagos, NLNG’s General Manager for External Relations and Sustainable Development, Mr Andy Odeh, represented by the Manager, Government Relations, Godson Dienye, handed over the entries to the Chairman of the prize’s Advisory Board, Prof. Barth Nnaji, who, in turn, handed over the entries to the judges.

He said that the theme of the 2023 NLNG Prize aligned well with the company’s health-related initiatives. According to him, these include previous interventions for COVID-19 and their Hospital Support Programme, aimed at enhancing the capabilities of 12 teaching hospitals across various geopolitical zones in the country.

“As we all know, the world is facing unprecedented challenges in healthcare. The COVID-19 pandemic has brought to the fore the importance of innovative solutions to address some of the most pressing healthcare issues facing us today. The Nigeria Prize for Science recognises the crucial role of science and technology in the quest for better healthcare outcomes for our people,” he said.
