Africa Magic Viewers’ Choice Awards (AMVCA) winning actress, Toyin Abraham, has reacted to rumours of being the new Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) ambassador.
Confiance News gathered from her Twitter feed on Friday.
“It has just being brought to my attention that blogs are reporting that I am now NCDC ambassador. Implying that I have been used to replace a senior colleague. That line of thought necessitate I put this out there. I am not an ambassador to NCDC. I do not like the narrative.
“That I am trying to take advantage of a bad situation. Please I support the campaign against Covid-19, I appeared on a video campaign against the pandemic but please let’s not drag anyone down. Thank you,” she tweeted.
The rumour is not unconnected with the recent conviction of Funke Akindele by a Lagos State High Court for contravening the social distancing rules after hosting a house party at her Amen Estate abode at Eleko Beach, Lekki Lagos in honour of her husband’s birthday.
Prior to her conviction, Funke Akindele was the brand ambassador of the NCDC COVID-19 campaign.
