‎The University of Calabar’s dental school buzzed with excitement. News had just broken that Peter Obi, the former governor and revered philanthropist, had donated N20 million to support the institution’s dental students.

‎Confiance News
learnt that the gesture, aimed at bolstering their education and resources, sent ripples of gratitude and admiration across the campus and beyond.

‎Students gathered in the lecture halls, their faces lit with hope. “This is a game-changer,” said Chioma, a final-year student, clutching her stethoscope. “With this, we can access better equipment and focus on our studies without financial stress.” Her classmates nodded, their chatter filled with dreams of modernized labs and enhanced training. The donation, they believed, would bridge the gap between their aspirations and reality.

‎On social media, reactions poured in. “Peter Obi is a blessing to this generation,” tweeted @NaijaYouth, a sentiment echoed by thousands. Hashtags like #ObiCares trended, with users praising his consistent support for education. However, not all voices were unanimous. A few skeptics, like @TruthSeekerNG, questioned the timing, hinting at political motives ahead of elections. “Why now?” they probed, sparking heated debates online. Supporters swiftly countered, citing Obi’s long history of philanthropy, untainted by seasonal politics.

‎The university’s administration issued a statement, lauding Obi’s “timely intervention.” The Vice-Chancellor, addressing a press conference, outlined plans to allocate the funds for scholarships, research, and facility upgrades. “This is a catalyst for excellence,” he declared.

‎In a quiet moment, Obi visited the campus, greeted by cheering students. “Investing in you is investing in Nigeria’s future,” he said, his voice steady yet warm. As he left, the students’ resolve hardened—to honor his faith with excellence, proving his donation was more than money; it was a spark for transformation.
