The Nigeria Deposit Insurance Corporation (NDIC) has reiterated its commitment towards ensuring that depositors’ confidence in the country’s financial system is not eroded.

The Managing Director (MD) of NDIC, Bello Hassan, disclosed to Confiance News during the 2024 NDIC Business Editors and Finance Correspondents Association of Nigeria (FICAN) workshop held in Lagos State.

Mr. Hassan noted confidence is one of the safety nets depositors hold sway.

“Confidence is key in the maintenance of financial system stability and the role of deposit insurance cannot be over-emphasized. As one of the safety-nets, it reassures depositors, thereby instilling trust in the banking system and prevents bank runs during times of uncertainty,” he said.
