The Socio-Economic Rights and Accountability Project (SERAP) has urged the US President, Joe Biden, to impose visa ban on perpetrators and sponsors of electoral violence.
Confiance News gathered from the official Twitter handle of the nonprofit, nonpartisan, legal and advocacy organisation on Sunday.
“We’ve urged the US president Joe Biden to impose visa bans, asset freezes and property sanctions on perpetrators and sponsors of violence and other electoral offences in the just concluded elections in country.
@POTUS @JoeBiden.
Reiterating the INEC regulations on conduct of elections, it said,
“INEC Regulations and Guidelines for the Conduct of Elections, 2022
Section 41–Where after a crosscheck and recount, the total sum of spoiled ballot papers, rejected ballots and valid votes is not equal to the total number of used ballots, an anomaly exists and the Presiding Officer shall submit a written report to the RA/Ward Collation Officer.

Section 11–A Polling Agent who aids and abets election malpractices at a Polling Unit or Collation Centre shall be disqualified and on the instruction of the Poll Official/ Collation Official, removed from the Polling Unit/Collation Centre and be liable to prosecution.”
