There has been a torrent of reactions since the newly elected 47th President of the United States of America (USA), Donald Trump, won the elections.

One of the reactions, Confiance News gathered, came from Dr. Segun Awosanya, popularly called Sega L’éveileur on X, who lauded the determination and tenacity of Trump.

He said: “They called him every dirty name in the book, tried to bankrupt him, told vicious lies against him, wanted him in jail, tried to assassinate him twice and failed. Yet he stood his ground and campaigned energetically winning the hearts of sane people!

To the 47th that conquered the Machine! 🇺🇸.”

Reacting to Sega’s post, Karata, an X user added: “Some wanted him in Jail he ends up President of the USA 🇺🇸.”

According to a post on Fox News official X handle, “Trump makes history with a political comeback, becoming the first president since Grover Cleveland in the 1800s to return to office after a defeat — a rare twist that highlights his influence in American politics.”

Another X user, Dr. Ann Amuta, said: “People are shocked Trump won but I’m not. Most people quietly voted for Trump while a few loudly voted for Kamala.

Confiance News further gathered that Donald Trump is also the first felon to win a US election.

According to the Mint, which referenced ‘The Guardian’ news portal, Kamala Harris won 66,264,540 votes, while Trump won 71,202,731 votes (51%) votes.

Confiance News also learnt that there will be a meeting of the Electoral College in December, where the electors will officially vote and declare a President for the United States.
