EFCC arrests Ogun State House of Assembly contestant with N1.709m for alleged vote-buying

Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) operatives have arrested Sotayo Olatayo Johnson, a contestant for Ogun State House of Assembly, allegedly caught with N1.709million neatly arranged in envelopes stashed in carrier bags.

The Commission disclosed in a tweet on its Twitter handle- @officialEFCC on Saturday, March 9, 2019.

“He was arrested at Ijaye Park Polling Unit, Abeokuta, Ogun State,” EFCC revealed in its tweet.

The money is alleged to be for vote buying.
