The arm of an eight weeks old baby has been allegedly broken by his father for disturbing his sleep.

Confiance News gathered from Platform Africa on Friday.

The man, a Nigerian known as Mr. Confidence Amatobi who resides in Imo State, allegedly beat his son, identified as Miracle with a hanger for disturbing his sleep, resulting in the amputation of the baby’s hand.

The National Human Right Commission (NHRC) and the Nigeria Association of Women Journalists (NAWOJ), Imo State chapter have called on the Imo State Government and the Nigeria Police Force to immediately arrest and prosecute Mr. Amatobi.

According to a report on social media, many eyewitnesses said that the arm of the baby was amputated to save the baby’s life.

“The damaged arm took days before proper medical treatment and became infected. Doctors confirmed that the only way to save the baby is to chop off the infected arm,” one of the eyewitnesses disclosed.
