Nigeria’s apex bank, CBN, extends deadline for return of old notes

Nigeria’s apex monetary authority, the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN), has extended the deadline for the submission of old naira notes of 200, 500, 1000 denominations.

Confiance News gathered from the official Twitter handle of CBN on Sunday.

“Central Bank of Nigeria extends the deadline for the return of old series of 200, 500 and 1000 naira notes from January 31, 2023, to February 10, 2023, to allow for the collection of more old notes,” the apex bank tweeted.

Confiance News recalls that on the 26th of October, 2022, CBN redesigned the 200, 500 and 1000 naira notes.
