A post by an X user known as Somto Okonkwo, showing a video of Igbos drinking beer at a bar, tagged protest has elicited mixed reactions.

“Happening Now: Igbos (South East) Joins In Protest Against The Economic Hardship And Suffering Against Bola Tinubu (Emilokan) Government Asking Him To #Resign:” Okonkwo said.

Reacting to the post, an X user known as Golden, wondered why instead of protesting, the Igbos were having a good time at the bar.

She said, “Protesting in beer parlor 😳

Is this Economy a joke to you guys?”

Reacting another twitter user, Ada Owerri said:”This is the best way to protest. The govt will listen better.”

Corroborating, Ada4real, said,”Hahahaha 🤣🤣. I love this type of protest.”

Protests broke out in most parts of the country owing to high costs of living, rising to inflation and insecurity as protesters call on the government of Bola Tinubu to either intervene or resign.

Confiance News gathered from the National Bureau of Statistics (NBS) that inflation rose to 29.9 percent in January 2024.

More so, the Naira exchanged for $1 at the parallel market for N1,700.
