Why netizens knock Toyin Abraham’s 5K palliative

Prompted the high cost of living and the difficulty by many to feed, popular Nollywood actress, Toyin Abraham, has promised to give palliative of ₦5000 to interested Nigerians who would grace the Smallyfares food bank event.

 

Confiance News gathered that the gestures irked many X users who flooded her comment section with remarks, mostly unpleasant ones.

“My friends @Smallyfares and I will be giving out food and I will also give 5k each for transportation to first 50 people every Friday. Pls kindly check the above flier for more details👏❤️,” She posted on her official X page.

 

Reacting to the post, an X user known as a”a little kindness”, said: “When people collect millions to support failure and come to share 5k to hungry people. Omo some Nigerians with politicians are really wicked oh 😭😭😭😭

😭😭.”

Another X user, HFC: Emmanuel said,”Guilty conscience is that you?”

“What happens if 100 people shows up at the same time?” Victor Edoho-Ukwa asked.

Confiance News also learnt that Smallyfares Ltd is a leading travel company based in Canada.

 

Reacting to the initiative, the company said: “Smallyfares has been steadfast in its commitment to community welfare by organising a weekly food bank event every Friday by providing essential groceries to the less privileged. Now, with the support of Toyin Abraham, the initiative is set to reach a new height.”
