There are reasons why people of God who originally should not be defeated can be defeated.

Confiance News gathered from a sermon by the Provincial pastor of the Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG), Solidrock Parish, Pastor Bola Odutola on the event of the Solidrock praise Sunday held on February 25.

“So, the people of God can be defeated. They can be subdued; they can be humiliated, if they fail to do what they ought to do and God will be watching,” he said.

Moreover, he added that the adversary is always in the business of plotting evil but it behoves on the christian to identify the plot and stop it.

“The adversary is constantly plotting; your prayer is to know what he is plotting and your duty is to truncate it,” he continued.

Taking his text from the book of Exodus 17:9-12 from the Bible, he said: “the physical battle, there is a spiritual component. If you fail in one— the two must go in pari-pasu (Verse 11).
Whatever was happening there was happening here.”

He frowned at Christians lackadaisical attitude towards godly endeavours.

“The more spiritual a task is, human beings are soon feed-up.
If you ask Christians to kneel down like Daniel and supplicate for 1 hour, in the 55th minute, a lot of them will sleep quality sleep. They will even dream,” Odutola explained.
