Fans of SSC Napoli’s erstwhile forward, Victor Osimhen, have reacted to the stripping of his number 9 shirt among other maltreatments.

Confiance News gathered from X on Saturday.

Reacting, multiple award winning journalist, Fisayo Soyombo said: “Victor Osimhen might have his well-documented foibles, but @sscnapoli are a despicable club to have been that cruel to the highest goalscorer who spearheaded the charge to their first league title in 33 years.

An ungrateful club that I hope will not taste another title for the next 33 years!”

Corroborating, Bluebird said: “Napoli didn’t want to accept the deals from both PSG and Saudi club that offered Osimhen better condition as a player, they just wanted to frustrate the young man and push him to Chelsea to show good will for Lukaku while Chelsea was ready to pay Napoli whatever they asked for but not ready to pay the player wages!
This is shameful from Napoli as a club!

Osimhen will be fine! It’s a temporary setup. He will be back and fine.”

Calvin ‘Emeka Onwuka added, “
Fisco, it was nothing personal. It is how the president deals with his star players over the last few years..”
