How to acquire the currency of heaven, why it matters

The Christian must have the currency of heaven stored up for him and the way to acquire it is by giving to the poor.

Confiance News gathered from Bola Odutola, the Provincial Pastor of the Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG) of Province 40, during a Thanksgiving service held at the Solidrock Parish on Sunday.

“The Christian must have substance. Heavenly recognised substance. The currency of heaven should be with you. You must know God’s way or standard,” he said.

Reading from the book of Luke 12:21 and
Luke 12:33-34 (Message Version) in the bible, he continued,”A man is either rich for himself or rich towards God. The money in your custody is not your own, it is given to you by God. The poor is not asking for too much.”

Odutola stated that, in the context of giving to the poor, the giver is the greatest beneficiary, not the receiver.

Citing the book of Psalm 41:1 (in the TPT version of the bible), he said: “Anytime you give to the poor, you are not helping them. You are helping yourself. Acting on this might be superior to some prayers.”
