‎CBN Governor, Soyinka Join Brazil-Nigeria heritage dialogue

‎The Legislative Chamber in Brazil hosted a landmark event on Monday, celebrating the deep historical and cultural ties between Brazil and Nigeria while setting the stage for enhanced future cooperation.

‎Confiance News reports that the event featured distinguished guests, such as  Governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN), Olayemi Cardoso, and Nobel Laureate Professor Wole Soyinka.

‎The event, which was organized in partnership with the Heritage Voyage of Return, was spearheaded by Hon. Gabriel Mango, Representative of the Federal District, Brazil.

‎The meeting highlighted the shared heritage rooted in transatlantic connections, emphasizing vibrant cultural legacies that continue to bind the two nations. Discussions centered on fostering stronger ties in trade, culture, and economic development.

‎Cardoso underscored opportunities for economic collaboration, citing Nigeria’s burgeoning financial sector and Brazil’s robust markets.


‎Soyinka, a global literary figure, stressed the importance of cultural exchange in strengthening bilateral relations, urging sustained dialogue.


‎The gathering marked a pivotal moment in Brazil-Nigeria relations, blending reverence for historical ties with a forward-looking vision for partnership.


‎Confiance News learnt that by bringing together policymakers and cultural icons, the event reaffirmed a mutual commitment to growth and collaboration, laying the foundation for a stronger alliance in the years ahead.
