Access Bank, Art X partner to promote contemporary arts

Access Bank Plc has said it is partnering with Art X Lagos for the sixth edition of its fair to provide funding and mentoring support for projects by emerging artists, showcasing their talents to the world.

According to a statement from the organisers, the event which holds annually exhibits the “best and most innovative” contemporary art on the continent and worldwide.

The statement said, “This year’s event will showcase presentations from leading galleries in Africa and the Diaspora, talk programmes and specially curated art projects that can be appreciated in person and also virtually.”

The current edition is said to be the fifth partnership the bank would hold with Art X Lagos.

The Group Head, Corporate Communications, Access Bank, Amaechi Okobi, was quoted as stating that the bank supported the drive for economic growth through empowerment with necessary platforms and funding.

Okobi added that the bank’s collaboration with Art X would teach youths to take advantage of their talents by establishing themselves through art.

He further said, “In line with our more than banking philosophy, Access Bank is a strong proponent of the Nigerian art scene and passionate about helping Africans tell the African story through creative and imaginative ways.”
