‎Eberechi Eze has made a sensational return to Arsenal in a £67.5 million transfer from Crystal Palace, outpacing rivals Tottenham in a dramatic deadline-day coup.

‎Confiance News gathered that the 27-year-old attacking midfielder, handed the iconic No. 10 shirt, rejoins the Gunners 14 years after being released by their academy at age 13, fulfilling a lifelong dream as a boyhood Arsenal fan.

‎Eze’s journey from rejection to redemption is remarkable. Born in Greenwich to Nigerian parents, he developed his silky dribbling in south-east London’s football cages, idolizing Thierry Henry. After Arsenal let him go, Eze faced further setbacks at Fulham, Reading, and Millwall, nearly quitting football for a Tesco job.

His breakthrough came at Queens Park Rangers, where he scored 14 goals in the 2019-20 Championship season, earning a £17 million move to Palace in 2020. Despite an Achilles injury in 2021, Eze shone, netting 34 Premier League goals and scoring the decisive strike in Palace’s 2025 FA Cup final win over Manchester City, securing their first major trophy.

‎Confiance News learnt that Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta hailed Eze’s “unique creativity” and ability to unlock low blocks, envisioning him as a No. 8 alongside Martin Odegaard or on the left flank. Eze’s emotional homecoming was marked by a standing ovation at Emirates Stadium, where he vowed to create “magic moments” and help end Arsenal’s Premier League title drought. His flair and versatility are expected to bolster Arsenal’s attack as they chase silverware in 2025-26.

‎The transfer, one of the summer’s biggest, underscores Arsenal’s ambition. Eze, who once questioned his footballing future, now stands poised to cement his legacy at the club he always loved.
