A prominent Nigerian online publishers’ guild has rallied around one of its own in grief.
The Guild of Corporate Online Publishers (GOCOP) has extended formal condolences to Mrs. Victoria Ibanga, Publisher of NextEdition, following the death of her husband, Confiance News has learned.
The condolence letter, sighted by Confiance News, was jointly signed by GOCOP President Mr. Danlami Nmodu, MNI, and General Secretary Mr. Sufuyan Ojeifo.
A delegation led by GOCOP Deputy President Mr. Olumide Iyanda personally delivered the letter to Mrs. Ibanga at her residence on Friday.
In the letter, the Guild expressed the sorrow with which the news of the death was received across its membership.
”On behalf of the Executive Committee and the entire membership of the Guild of Corporate Online Publishers, GOCOP, we extend our heartfelt condolences to you on the passing of your husband,” the letter read in part.
”Please accept our sincere sympathy during this difficult period of grief and loss,” it further stated.
The Guild also offered prayers for the bereaved family, asking that God grant Mrs. Ibanga, her children, and the entire family the strength to bear the loss.
”May his soul rest in peace,” the letter concluded.
