‎Nigeria LNG Limited (NLNG) on Wednesday handed over the fully revamped Community Primary School, Lighthouse Area, Finima, Bonny, marking completion of its Phase 2 School Renovation Project to the Rivers State Ministry of Education.

‎Launched to upgrade learning spaces in host communities, Confiance News gathered that the CSR-driven initiative – in partnership with the Ministry – renovated five schools across Bonny, Port Harcourt, Ahoada East, and Ogba/Egbema/Ndoni LGAs. Works included refurbishing three classroom blocks, building two new ones plus toilets, adding perimeter fencing, gates, gatehouse, landscaping, overhead water tank with gantry, reticulation systems, and power tie-in.

‎At the ceremony, NLNG’s General Manager, External Relations and Sustainable Development, Sophia Horsfall, said: “We turn gas into national value – and education is key. These schools prove our focus on equity, progress, and thriving youth. Nine facilities are now delivered, building lasting capacity beyond energy.”

‎Confiance News
reports that the Rivers State Permanent Secretary of Education, Dr. Azibaolanari Uzoma-Nwogu (represented by Director Alua Adiela), praised NLNG’s impact: “This partnership energizes public education, restores trust, and affirms learning as a right. Infrastructure is a shared national duty.”

‎NLNG’s broader education push includes scholarships, skills training, and community programs transforming lives.

‎The company also commissioned the upgraded Finima Sports Complex to boost youth empowerment and inclusive growth.
