Worshippers at the Solidrock Parish Ojodu, Lagos State, were led into declarations against sudden death, disease and “deadly enemies” as their pastor tied the prayers to scripture and real-world tragedy.

‎Confiance News gathered that Pastor Bola Odutola of Solidrock Parish, Ojodu, Lagos State, led a Sunday congregation through an extended prayer session anchored on Isaiah 30:31 and Psalm 71:2, urging members to verbally reject every form of affliction threatening their lives.

‎It was learned that the cleric opened the session by acknowledging the economic hardship many Nigerians face, noting the contrast between those who go hungry and others who waste abundance, before turning the congregation’s attention to a series of spiritual declarations.

Prayer against affliction

‎Pastor Odutola was sighted leading worshippers to declare against every affliction capable of tampering with their lives, telling them to speak escape over every form of trouble.

Prayer against accidents

‎Confiance News confirmed that the pastor directed the congregation to pray against domestic, spiritual and public accidents, insisting there is “no evil-free zone” in the world and that vigilance in prayer remains necessary daily.

Prayer against deadly enemies

‎Citing Psalm 17:9, Pastor Odutola was heard warning of “deadly enemies” who kill without remorse, including undisclosed adversaries operating from within one’s own household. He led members in declarations that such enemies would be destroyed by their own schemes.

Prayer against sudden death

‎It was gathered that the cleric referenced the 2015 Nepal flood wave (that was initially mistaken for an earthquake) to illustrate the unpredictability of death, describing debris travelling at speeds of up to 150km per hour as proof that mortality can strike without warning. He urged the congregation to declare against being caught unprepared.

Prayer against disease and genetic conditions

‎Pastor Odutola was further sighted declaring health as central to the congregation’s wellbeing, telling members their bodies would resist disease and that genetic conditions would not manifest in their lives.

Prayer against entrapment

‎Citing an elderly congregant, simply identified as “Mama,” aged 80, who reportedly escaped a kidnap attempt by repeatedly changing direction, the pastor used the account to reinforce prayers against being trapped in “physical, spiritual or financial nets.”

Closing declaration

‎Confiance News learned that the session closed with Isaiah 38:10, as Pastor Odutola charged worshippers to pursue not just survival but health and prosperity, declaring that members of the congregation would live to see their harvests fulfilled.
