Understanding imperatives of knowledge

Your marketability ends where your knowledge ends.

Confiance News gathered from the senior pastor of the Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG), Praise and Miracle Parish, Lanre Aiyedun on Sunday.

He highlighted the importance of acquiring knowledge as well as putting it to good use.

Citing the book of 1Chronicles 12:32 in the scriptures, he noted that the children of Issachar had understanding of the times and knowledge of the seasons.

“The knowledge you acquire in school will give you a living but the practicability of your knowledge will give you a fortune,” Pastor Aiyedun disclosed.

Aiyedun, who is also the Principal Partner at Olanrewaju Aiyedun & Co, added that degrees or certificates does not get you jobs but knowledge does.

He warned against being complacent and redundant.

“Don’t be too satisfied with where you are today in your field of study.

“If your knowledge is based on the technology of yesterday, you will only be relevant to men of yesterday,” Pastor Aiyedun said.

Making reference to the book of Isaiah 33:6, he pointed that wisdom and knowledge are stabilizers of destiny.

“Knowledge and Wisdom are galvanizers of success. When you know what you ought to do in life, you will outrun your mates,” he said.

The Pastor said that the reason why the western world is ahead is because they know what they ought to do with the knowledge they have.

“It is very important that what you ought to do in the future is done,” he added.

Pastor Aiyedun noted that opportunity is wasted when you don’t know what to do with it.
