Why CAF ordered Libya to pay Nigeria’s Super Eagles $50,000

The Libyan Football Federation has been directed to pay the Nigeria’s Super Eagles $50,000 by the Confederation of African Football (CAF).

Confiance News gathered from the official X handle of CAF on Saturday.

They were also awarded 3 points and 3 goals against Libya in the AFCON qualifiers by CAF.

According to their X handle, Libya breached Article 31 of Afcon Regulations and Articles 82 and 151 of CAF Disciplinary Code.

Confiance News recall that the Nigerian Players and staff were held hostage at an airport in Libya without food and water for 20 hours.

Nigeria reacted by pulling out of the game over security concerns. The game was eventually cancelled.
