Why your soul needs to be in constant flight

By Chioma Obinagwam

The soul has capacity for flight. The body cannot fly. If your body flies, you are a witch.

Pastor Bola Odutola, the Provincial pastor of the Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG) Solid Rock Parish explained at the August Thanksgiving Service of the church held on Sunday.

Citing Isaiah 40:31 as his text, he stated that they that wait upon the Lord mount up with wings like an eagle.

“Christianity will not be real to any Christian until this mounting up component comes to play.T here is the you on the ground. There is the you in the air,” he stated.

Confiance News gathered from his sermon, that there are certain conditions that must be met for the flight to take place.

“But your soul through the force and power of imagination can fly and there are conditions under which though it can fly but it will never take off. Even an aircraft can fly but there are conditions under which it can take off. There are also conditions under which, though it can fly but it will never take off,” the clergyman explained.

Odutola said that a Christian has what it takes to lift up his soul unto God.

“Now, that you’re in air, certain powers were overcome and over powered for you to be in the air, it has to be sustained for you will remain in the air,” he admonished.

Confiance News further gathered that waiting on God does not really entail fasting. It is beyond just fasting.

The Provincial pastor said: “All that we have explained, how does it translate in the physical. They that wait upon the Lord shall renew their strength… . Waiting is not only fasting, it simply means a withdrawal to God. A habitual withdrawal to God. Everything about Christianity must be on a daily basis.

“Sound prayer must be on a daily basis. Sound bible reading with concentration must be on a daily basis. Meditation must be on a daily basis, then you remain in the air.”

Reading excerpts from the book of Hosea 12:4 in the bible, he narrated how Jacob fought and prevailed over the angels to soar to a height where he could talk face to face with God.

“There’s a man called a prince with God in the bible. Jacob is that man. He fought with the angels, then his name changed from Jacob to Israel.

“He achieved that because he prevailed in prayer, he took off into the air. From there he began to see. He began to see the works of the devil. The work of the devil can be exposed. Satan likes surprising people. But at that height, things are revealed constantly. Things are revealed periodically,” he explained.

Pastor Odutola noted that christians should strive to prevail in the place of prayers.

“You must prevail. Yes, he wrestled with the angel.

*Hearing the voice of God in due season, can make a difference between life and death. May you hear his voice periodically and routinely,” he prayed.
