Zone 2 police beefs up security in Lagos, Ogun, environ

Assistant Inspector General of Police(AIG) Zone 2 command Lagos State, Ahmed Iliasu, has drawn a new policy strategy to dismantle crime and insecurity within the zone.

The police boss who oversees operations of Lagos and Ogun States police command disclosed this to journalists in an interactive session on Thursday.

According to him, the zone have put together adequate security measures tactically during the festive period leading to the new year.

He explained that operatives have been placed on ground to ensure a crime free yuletide.

“We assure residents of Lagos, Ogun State and environs that the police in the zone are ready to ensure adequate security henceforth in the zone,” he said.

The AIG, Confiance News gathered, has a significant track record for tackling crime, a recognition he earned while he was the commissioner of police Kano State.

While in Kano, he ensured that activities of armed banditry was brought to a halt as scores of criminals were arrested with the recovery of large cache of arms.
