As the robbery in a First Bank at Mpape, Abuja was happening, many Twitter users used Money Heist, a movie about daredevil robbers to depict events at the scene.

Reports emerged of the combining force of both the Police and the army helping to foil the robbery and trap the robbers inside the bank.

As the robbers were being caught and whisked away, images both false and true also emerged.

However, a lot of social media users began to release fake images of the robbery.

A reverse image search shows that most of the images being bandied did not happen at the scene of the Abuja bank robbery.

One of the images shows a young man being held by the police with both hands tied to his back. The image did not happen during the bank robbery. It was a separate arrest made by the police alone in another location.

Also using geolocation verification, the topography of the picture did not match that the Abuja bank robbery scene.

The general public should be aware that a lot people are out to cash in on the situation to spread falsehood.
