Nigeria’s apex monetary authority, the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN), through its Agricultural Credit Guarantee Scheme Fund (ACGSF) has honoured farmers that repaid their loans amid a challenging COVID-19 pandemic year of 2020.

Confiance News gathered from the bank’s official Twitter handle on Thursday.

The #ACGSF Best Farmer of the Year Award recognizes selected farmers that borrowed and repaid loans under the scheme,” it explained.

The ACGSF is a policy instrument of the Federal Government of Nigeria on Agricultural Credit.

The target beneficiaries of the fund are individual farmers, cooperatives societies, and corporate bodies, while the general requirements are among others, that the beneficiary must be a farmer with verifiable investment in the enterprise of interest; must have ability to bear the cost of agricultural insurance cover by Nigerian Agricultural Insurance Corporation (NAIC), etc.
