The Chartered Insurance Institute of Nigeria (CIIN) will host its inaugural Insurance Awareness Week from June 28 to July 4, 2025, under the theme “Insurance for All: Securing Nigeria’s Future.”
CIIN told Confiance News in a statement on Monday.
The campaign, Confiance News gathered, aims to educate Nigerians on the vital role of insurance in protecting individuals, businesses, and the nation’s economic stability.
Reacting to the event, the President, CIIN, Mrs. Yetunde Ilori, said, “The aim of this campaign is to break the myths, bridge the knowledge gap, and help Nigerians understand that insurance is not a luxury—it is a necessity.” She added, “With the right coverage, individuals, families, and businesses can protect themselves against unforeseen risks, ensuring a more secure and sustainable future.”
According to the statement, the week will feature an Insurance Awareness Walk to highlight insurance’s everyday importance, an opening ceremony with stakeholders discussing its role in national development, and outreach to schools, MSMEs, and markets. An insurance hackathon will drive innovation, culminating in an awards ceremony celebrating progress toward greater insurance adoption in Nigeria.
“Insurance gives peace of mind, and peace of mind is priceless. We invite every Nigerian to join us in this movement to secure our future—together,” the CIIN President added.
Confiance News also learnt that CIIN’s Insurance Awareness Week 2025 is a bold step toward fostering a nationwide culture of insurance, empowering citizens with the tools and knowledge to secure their futures.
