Nigeria’s President Muhammadu Buhari is considering a partial re-opening of places worship, schools and businesses following recommendations from Presidential Task Force (PTF) on COVID-19.
Confiance News gathered from Personal Assistant on New Media to the President, Bashir Ahmad on Monday.
“The Presidential Task Force on COVID-19 has submitted parts of its recommendations on the partial re-opening of some additional businesses, schools and places of worships for possible consideration by President @MBuhari, SGF Boss Mustapha disclosed after briefing the President,” Ahmad tweeted.
Adamawa State is one of the states in Nigeria that have re-opened its worship centres despite the outbreak of the pandemic.
Similarly, President Donald Trump of the United States of America (USA) had on the 19th of May directed governors in the country to re-open worship centres despite mounting cases of coronavirus in the country, describing it as an essential part of their lives.
Confiance News recalls that the lockdown was first announced by Buhari on March 29, 2020 during a nationwide speech, where he announced a 14-day shutdown of business, economic and social activities in Lagos, Ogun and Abuja state.
It has since been extended consecutively for two weeks to date.
