Decoding satan’s decoy

By Chioma Obinagwam

Satan is a very crafty creature—he shows you the bait and he hides the hook. Underneath his gifts are evil.

The Provincial Pastor of the Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG) Solidrock Parish, Pastor Bola Odutola made this submission in a sermon on Sunday.

He said:”Give them apple and take paradise from them.”

Taking his text from Genesis 15:12-15 in the bible, he said that God revealed the evil (400 years of enslavement) that would befall the descendants of Abraham in the future but Abraham did nothing to avert it.

“It is a heavenly security report. It involves the lives of millions of men for years to come. The men are not around.
If it was possible for them to have an input they would have kicked against it.
As we are seated here, we are ancestors to some people and we are descendants of some people,” Odutola stated.

He recalled the role of Abraham in averting the destruction of a city and decried Abraham’s reluctance in preventing the evil from befalling his descendants.

“The same Abraham prevented a city from being destroyed. If he accomplished that for that city, why not for his descendants. Every now and then, there are lacunas in the spirit,” he lamented.

When it comes to implementing satanic decisions, Odutola stated, the devil is efficient.

Citing Genesis 26:2-3, he highlighted Isaac’s role in avoiding satan’s ambush by not going to Egypt when there was hardship.

He said: “Isaac is a highly mediating man. Every evening, he secluded himself to meditate and pray. Perhaps, it was on one of those occasions that he got the revelation not to leave Isreal.”

“Isaac went off the scene, then came Jacob (Genesis 41:27)Jacob which was supposed to escape from the trap but fell into it,” he continued.

Confiance News gathered that inorder for Satan to fulfill that prophesy, there was famine in the land which prompted the sons of Jacob to go to Egypt for food.

“By right where should there be famine? Egypt and not in Canaan. Where should they go to buy corn? Canaan and not Egypt. But it was the other way round. who should buy corn from where. What was booting was slavery and slave trade,” the Provincial Pastor interrogated.

Odutola stated all these were steps to ensure that an entire nation is being enslaved.

“All these are happening because Jacob did not pray like Isaac to seek for a better solution,” the clergyman said.

“Isaac escaped it but Jacob fell into the trap,” the Provincial Pastor harped.
