Denmark’s Consul General, FC4S Lagos, others collaborate for enhanced access to dairy products

For Nigeria to achieve its nutritional goals, its teaming population must be able to have improved access to dairy products.

The Consul General of Denmark in Nigeria, Ms. Jette Bjerrum, disclosed this during a high-level workshop on Nutrition in Dairy Sector,
FMDQ Group Plc’s office in Lagos—southwestern part of Nigeria.

In a statement issued by FC4S Lagos and sighted by Confiance News, it gathered that the workshop focused on the need for collaborative efforts to tackle the issues surrounding low milk production and all.

“The workshop aimed to foster an inclusive conversation with stakeholders across the dairy sector to understand and proffer solutions to the challenges plaguing the Nigerian Dairy Sector from low milk production, poor infrastructure, and inefficient supply chains,” the statement disclosed.

Some of the participants at the workshop include: The National Agency for Food and Drug Administration and Control (NAFDAC), Standards Organisation of Nigeria (SON), Milk Value Chain Foundation, Christian Aid UK, and the Nigerian Incentive-Based Risk Sharing Systems for Agricultural Lending (NIRSAL Plc).

Confiance News learnt that the participants worked in smaller groups to explore topics on Public Health, Dairy Quality & Safety, Policy & Economics, Innovation & Access to Finance & Sustainability in Dairy Production.

The workshop was organised by the Consulate General of Denmark, a long-standing advocate for sustainable agricultural practices; Arla Foods, a leader in dairy production and innovation; and FC4S Lagos, a dedicated platform for advancing sustainable finance solutions in Nigeria.
