Canada’s refusal to grant visa to Nigeria’s Chief of Defence Staff (CDS), Christopher Musa and other senior military chiefs has elicited outrage on X.

Confiance News reports that Nigerians questioned the rationale for the army chiefs’ travel to Canada to celebrate veterans of other countries when the veterans of Nigeria are not well-catered for.

Reacting, Abdulraheem Muh’d said,”According to Abdulraheem Muh’d, “You want to go to Canada to celebrate veterans when many of your veterans are currently under paid and their allowances deprived. If you don’t have sense Canada have sense. E pain you but e sweet me. You will have sense by force.”

“Canada can go to hell. But it is painful,” National Security Adviser, Nuhu Ribadu reacted.

Douglas Hugo said:”Ask them how many service chiefs from other countries went for the Invictus Games. These people don’t even have shame to say it out. A charity event for wounded veterans championed by a private citizen is what Nig Army top brass wants to use tax payers money to go to.”

Odogwu Michael said, “They should begin to slam more Visa ban on Nigerian political class. We need to enjoy this country together.”

On his part, MTM seemed to have a divergent view,”Be patriotic even as opposition. The CDS was invited. If you allow your country to be disrespected today because you hate the govt you will inherit the disrespect when you are in govt tomorrow.”

Confiance News recalls that recently, a retired police officer was reportedly denied asylum in Canada, because the Nigeria Police Force (NPF) is notorious for extortion, bribery, and other vices.
