Nestlé Nigeria PLC has announced a remarkable financial turnaround for the first half of 2025 , reporting a profit before tax (PBT) of N88.4 billion, a stark contrast to the significant loss of N252.2 billion recorded in the same period in 2024.

Confiance News gathered that this robust recovery follows a challenging H1 2024, where the company faced substantial losses primarily due to foreign exchange volatility and rising operational costs, which severely impacted its bottom line.

The company’s H1 2025 financial results, covering January 1 to June 30, showcase a 43% surge in revenue, reaching N581.1 billion, compared to H1 2024. Operating profit soared by 106%, climbing from N63.4 billion to N130.4 billion. Additionally, Nestlé Nigeria recorded a profit after tax of N50.6 billion, reversing the N176.6 billion loss from the previous year. The company also strengthened its equity position by N50.6 billion and made an early repayment of a USD 20 million inter-group forex debt in Q2 2025.

The turnaround began in Q4 2024, driven by strategic cost management, improved operational efficiencies, and favorable market conditions. Nestlé Nigeria’s focus on optimizing its supply chain and leveraging local sourcing helped mitigate the impact of economic headwinds that had previously strained its performance.

Mr. Wassim Elhusseini, CEO and Managing Director of Nestlé Nigeria PLC, commented on the results, saying, “The robust topline growth of 43% and profit after tax of N50.6 billion in H1 2025 support our return to profitability which commenced in Q4 2024. This performance reflects our unwavering commitment to operational excellence, the support of our stakeholders, and the dedication of our team to drive sustainable growth in the face of evolving challenges.”

Looking forward, Mr. Elhusseini emphasized the company’s commitment to sustained growth, stating, “We will continue to focus on improving our margin management while driving innovation and renovation to meet changing consumer needs. We will also maintain our investment in community programs that create sustainable value for our stakeholders.”

Nestlé Nigeria’s strong performance in H1 2025 signals a promising trajectory as the company continues to navigate a dynamic economic landscape while reinforcing its position as a leading player in Nigeria’s consumer goods sector.
