NSCDC Lagos Command quashes attempted pipeline vandalism, rescues victims

The Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), Lagos State Command, has once again demonstrated its commitment to safeguarding lives and critical national assets. Under the astute leadership of Commandant of Corps Usman Ishaq Alfadarai, fdc, mnim, fisn, MFR, the command has achieved significant success in its recent operations.

In a recent operation, personnel of the NSCDC, acting on credible intelligence, arrested a suspect identified as Abiodun Samuel at 12:35hrs on Friday, 11th August, 2023. Samuel was apprehended in the act of attempting to vandalize the NNPCL Pipeline located at Governor Road Idimu area of Lagos.

As a result of the swift action of the NSCDC personnel, the suspect’s nefarious attempt of vandalism was thwarted, although his accomplices remain at large.

The command has commenced its investigation, in a bid to trail and apprehend the other suspected perpetrators.

In a separate operation on the same day aforementioned above, the Anti-Human Trafficking Unit, through credible intelligence, carried out a successful raid on Laredo Motel situated at Totomu village, a border area between Lagos and Ogun States. The operation led to the rescue of four underaged girls, all of whom were being exploited and subjected to illegal activities.

Among the arrested suspects was Enem Peace Asuquo, ‘m,’ age 38yrs believed to be the ringleader of the trafficking cartel.

The Lagos State Commandant, Usman Alfadarai has issued directives for the arrested suspects from both operations to be brought to the State Command Headquarters, in Alausa, Ikeja. The Intelligence and Investigation Department, as well as the Anti-Human Trafficking Unit of the Command, will conduct thorough interrogations and investigations to ensure the swift and just handling of these matters. The Command remains resolute in its determination to bring the culprits to justice and curb such criminal activities.

Alfadarai further emphasized the Command’s unwavering commitment to eradicating pipeline vandalism, illegal petroleum dealings, and the destruction of critical national assets. He also sent a clear message to those involved in human trafficking and exploitation that they will be identified, apprehended, and made to face the full wrath of the law if found culpable.
